No one knows exactly how long this band has played big band music in Central Texas, but it's safe to say it has been for decades. The Band's origin is in the The Shriner Swing Band. When the Shriners lost their building to the Eanes ISD through eminent domain in 2001, the band no longer had a place to practice and was in danger of disbanding. With the loss of the Shriner affiliation the band began practicing in a warehouse owned by one of it's members. The name was changed to The Senior Swing Band and new members were recruited. As the band evolved the name was eventually changed to Lone Star Swing Syndicate. The band's name is a bit of a mouthful so it is frequently abbreviated to LS3. We play the great tunes of the Big Band era along with a few more recent tunes. We have seen a lot of changes over the years, but one constant that will always remain is the great music of the Big Bands.
